Haroun's Bio · Currently pursuing his PhD in Arabic and Islamic studies at UCLA · Imam Ayub obtained his BA & MA in Arabic and Islamic Studies in Kuwait · He started his formal education in Ghana from his late father Imam Swalleh Haroun and completed his Quran at very early age. · Imam Ayub Left Ghana at the age of 13 to State of Kuwait on a merit-based Scholarship. · Imam Ayub has a unique combination of education and life experience of three continents: his native Ghana, the Middle East and America. · Imam Ayub Taught Arabic and Islam in Kuwait for ten years and was the first non-native Black man to teach Arabic to native Kuwaitis · Imam Ayub taught at UC Berkeley, Stanford, Cal State East bay in Hayward, UCLA, Monterey Institute for Intl. Studies, LA Sierra University and at Moorpark College. · Imam Ayub is an active Da'iya, giving lectures and khutbas in various Mosques and Islamic Centers across the country. · He has also delivered lectures at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor and offered a specialized course, "The Linguistic Miracles of the Quran" at MCA Santa Clara and UCLA. Imam Ayub is currently the resident scholar and Imam at the Islamic Center of Bakersfield.
